Obituary


Carolyn Brown, 72, beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother, departed this world October 10, 2016. A native of Maplesville, she spent 25 years with AT&T and joined the Alabama National Guard, then she and her husband Tommy built Sundown East and Papa T's into a Montgomery institution starting in 1981. Carolyn was a big Alabama fan and "the hardest working woman around."

She was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Brown; parents Jimmie and Lorene Harrison; and sister Eunice Faye Spiers.

She is survived by her son Mike and daughter-in-law...

She is survived by her son Mike and daughter-in-law Lori; daughter Angi; grandchildren Hannah, Samantha, Grace Ann, and Evan; great-grandson Colt; brothers Jimmie and Jerry; sister Charlotte; and hundreds of friends, APA pool league members, Guardsmen, and fans of Sundown East.

A visitation will be held at Leak Memory Chapel on Sunday, October 16, 2016 from 12:00pm-2:00pm with a service to follow in the Chapel at 2:00pm. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
